Sancreed House used to be a Georgian Vicarage and is in an area where spiritual traditions date back to Celtic times. The house is next to a medieval church in the village of Sancreed which was named after St. Credan, a hermit who lived in early Celtic Christian times at the nearby holy well. The house is surrounded by beautiful, tranquil and subtropical gardens, featuring many rare plants and a spacious conservatory often painted by John Miller an artist who used to live here.

The local area includes many ancient sacred sites and art galleries and traditions in Newlyn and St. Ives.
